A Message From Sheryl Gibu

Welcome to my Monster Mash Bowl for Kids' Sake page for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai'i's annual bowling fundraiser at Aiea Bowl. My name is Sheryl Gibu and I'm one of the School-Based Mentoring Program Case Managers. Our School-Based Mentoring Program offers elementary school students the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a caring and responsible mentor (typically a high school student) in a supervised group setting after school, alongside other Bigs and Littles. I'm on-site at each mentoring session to answer any questions and provide support for each match relationship. Bigs and Littles play games, participate in fun activities, do homework, and form positive and meaningful relationships. The picture featured above is of my Kaimiloa Elementary School-Based Mentoring Program Bigs & Littles. The video featured below is of my Ali'iolani Elementary School-Based Mentoring Program Big Sisters and Littles being thankful for their time in our program. Your support can change a child’s life and the lives of everyone he or she interacts with for the better, forever. If you'd like to participate in Bowl for Kids' Sake as well, let me know! The annual fundraiser will be held on Saturday, September 9 & 16, where the bowling shifts are from 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM in 2.5 hour shifts for a minimum $600/lane funds raised and a maximum of 6 bowlers/lane.

In Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai'i

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai'i supports keiki from 6 yrs old and up through our one-to-one mentoring relationships which support their social and emotional development

Our youth-centered programs help our keiki create and achieve goals through the connection and support of their mentors. Each child, mentor, and family unit is guided through the process of enrollment, volunteerism, and support by all of our staff. We become 'ohana to ensure that the social and emotional needs of youth are being met and that every keiki has an opportunity to reach their full potential.
