The Fundraising Page of Kendra Chong

Our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i is, "To provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever." As a former Big Sister, I have been able to experience this firsthand. Five years ago, I met this shy, little boy who kept to himself and often exercised his 'right to pass'. Over the next three years together, I had the privilege of getting to know him and watching him grow into the confident, young man he is today. He is now in middle school, excelling in his academics and sports, and even stands taller than me now! Pictured above is my [not so] Little Brother, Dillon. I'd like to think I've had a positive impact on his life... but what I know for sure is that he’s had a huge impact on mine. None of this would have been possible without the thriving mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i. And even more so, the heart and soul of the people that pour into this organization. I humbly ask you to join me in supporting our keiki in need. We have all had at least one mentor in our life (parent, teacher, coach, colleague, friend, family member), without which, we wouldn’t be who we are today. There are kids out there who need additional support—a positive role model, someone to be there for them, a friend. Your support brings light to a brighter future for the children of Hawai‘i.
